This is a quick tutorial to set up a new Blogger blog, whilst also using Cloudflare for the best caching and performance.
1. On the new Blogger blog, go to Settings -> Publishing and set the custom domain to whatever you want.
2. In Cloudflare, go to your website -> DNS and add a new record (this page). Set the type to CNAME, set the name to the same subdomain that was entered in Blogger and set the target to ghs.google.com. This is because this Google database looks at the 'Host' header your browser sends and then looks up in its database the relevant site.
3. Make sure the proxy status in Cloudflare is OFF for now. (This may not actually be needed, I will update this later when I have more information!)
4. Turn off HTTPS Availability in Blogger as this will break Cloudflare proxying for specific SSL/TLS encryption modes including Flexible.
5. Wait ~1 hour for an SSL certificate to be issued by Google Trust Services, Cloudflare or Let's Encrypt for your domain. It will automatically be installed. You can turn on email notifications for certificate issuing here: https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/:zone/ssl-tls/edge-certificates#ct-alerting-card
6. After this certificate has been issued, turn caching back ON on Cloudflare if it's off and enjoy!
